The Strawberry Fields - John Lennon Memorial is a landmark in a beautiful arranged garden in Central Park. Named after one of the Beatles' most famous tunes, the remembrance recognizes the artist who was shockingly gunned down in New York in 1980. Appreciate the style of the landmark and walk around the grand patio nurseries. Enter the recreation center over the street from the Dakota loft building, where Lennon lived. He was shot outside this lofty complex, which has been the home for different big names, for example, performing artist Judy Garland, football mentor John Madden and author Leonard Bernstein.
