About Shawangunk Mountains
The Shawangunk Mountains, otherwise called the Shawangunk Ridge or the Gunks, are included an edge of bedrock that ranges from the northernmost purpose of New Jersey to the Catskill Mountains through Ulster, Sullivan, and Orange Counties. Once utilized for mining, logging, and huckleberry picking, the edge is today a well known open air entertainment scene for mountain climbers, explorers, mountain bikers, and untamed life aficionados.
A large portion of the northern Ridge is secured by the Minnewaska State Park Preserve and Sam's Point Preserve and gloats in excess of 100 miles 160 km of climbing trails, including the Long Path long-remove, a few old carriage trails, and ious climbing territories. Abounding with rich biodiversity and amazing view, the Ridge has been assigned as a Nature Conservancy zone and offers a scope of preservation programs for general society.
