The American Dream takes control and you are in the streets of New York! Get in the groove and let the hip hop mood have a free charge on your mind leaving you off the guard in those loose fit pants, basketball t-shirts, chains around the neck and the side put cap. Nope, I ain't describing Eminem, Snoop Dog or 50 Cent; this is what that rules the NY streets. No matter, if you don't like or understand what Eminem shoots or 50 Cent throws, these guys (read rappers) do have their own world and followers. Listening to 'Toy Soldier' or the recent Not Afraid' in your home or car would prove a world of different had you heard it on a free style rap session in NY.

Various genre of rap music lives in NY, but no doubt, the Freestyle rapping is perhaps the most popular as it contains words (can't ignore the abuses) that rhyme as fast as humanly possible. But, you must have that frame of mind and mentality to be around a bunch of trash talking youngsters high on adrenaline and intoxication. Sans the vices, you can't just ignore the extremely creative knack of these fellows who has to get back to the opponent with words that hurt like bullets in an extempore mode. If words and adrenaline has cast a spell on you, it is time for some treat to the eyes! Very commonly and loosely know as hip hop, this sort of dance is truly stylish and needs a lot of skills and practice.

They evolved outside the studios and found a home under the open sky- parks, schools, abandoned building, underground parking’s and of course the streets. Here also, the fun is doubled if you get to see a one on one. The popping, locking, head spin, b-buying and all the possible movement of human limbs is sure to leave you stunned and with a hope- Wish I could also move like that!!!Some of the well known names of the rapping world and dancing arena find their origin in the street culture. So, you can't just write off the kid rapping in front of you as who knows, one day you might be buying his CDs or head banging in his shows!
