Bangalore or Bengaluru, one of those rare cities in India blessed with gorgeously pleasant weather all the year round. Even though this is a fast growing city, weather here has remained the same over the years. Another great thing about Bangalore or Bengaluru is its nightlife, which despite the early closing hours is among the best in the country. Though known as one of the most expensive cities in India, you sure can travel on a shoestring budget here.
1. Accommodation
Of the many options to stay in, there are many which will fit your shoestring budget as well. Sunflower Lodge at Brigade Road Junction is a good budget option with hot and cold water and TV facilities and is just 6 kms from the airport. Also, Hotel Adora is another option, infact it is cheaper than even Sunflower lodge, located at K. G. Road, just 1 km from the bus and railway stations.
2. Food
You can have great food at very reasonable prices in this city. One good choice is Adigas, a budget eatery with lip smacking, healthy vegetarian local food. You can also have Chinese and North Indian as well in this restaurant. Bheema's, on MG Road is another good non-vegetarian restaurant. Bangalore Food Walk is another place which is a must visit with a number of places to enjoy great food.
3. Places to Visit
While in Bangalore or Bengaluru, and especially if you are on a budget travel, you should not miss St. Marks Cathedral on MG Road, founded in 1808 which is yet a functioning cathedral. This cathedral is named after St. Mark, thought of as the first Gospel writer and is well known for its Roman arches. National Gallery of Modern Art on Palace Road which also has a museum shop, public art reference library, cafeteria, auditorium and park. If on a budget trip, you can take a bicycle trip to Nrityagram Dance Village and the Odissi temple. This place was founded by the late Protima Gauri. This is just a brief outline on how you can have a successful holiday in Bengaluru on a budget. There can be other options but we have shown you one of the better ones. Enjoy your Bangalore trip!
