About Mt. Sikjangsan
Mt. Sikjangsan, situated toward the southeast of Daejeon, is the most astounding and biggest mountain in Daejeon and rises 623.3m above ocean level. As one of The Eight Scenic Spots of Daejeon, Mt. Sikjangsan's valleys are loaded with extravagant woodlands, clear valleys, and valuable plants and are very much protected. The City of Daejeon assigned around 483ha of land in Secheon Park of Mt. Sikjangsan as an Ecological Preservation Zone, and is endeavoring fullest endeavors for the protection and reclamation of indigenous habitats. There are as of now 187 kinds of 22 species and 5 mixture types of plants and 45 types of warm blooded animals, including deer, squirrels, wildcats, raccoons, and foxes. As the mountain territory turns out to be somewhat steep, it is difficult to accomplish the pinnacle. In any case, the perspectives from the pinnacle are genuinely astonishing.
Mt. Sikjangsan has delightful landscape, as well as has strange and intriguing legends and relics. It was the fringe of Baekje and Silla amid the time of the Three Kingdoms. Baekje fabricated a post on Mt. Sikjangsan and put away much rice in anticipation of Silla's attack. Some say it is called "Mt. Sikjangsan" on the grounds that it was a capacity stop for military rice. Another legend says that there was at one time a poor yet family-focused couple and that they went up to the mountains to dispose of their young child who recklessly took all the sustenance from their old mother. While burrowing an opening to cover their child, they found a bowl that gave a limitless measure of rice. They lived in riches from that point on, yet covered the bowl again after their mom passed away and called the mountain Mt. Sikjangsan.
