Shoryakuji Temple

This sanctuary could be viewed as the origination of present day purpose. Similarly as priests in Europe spearheaded preparing systems for lager, sanctuaries in the Muromachi time made purpose, known as Soboshu.

Shoryakuji Temple was a standout amongst the most celebrated makers, spearheading sifting procedures that are still being used today. Each November a purpose tasting celebration is held at the sanctuary.

The sanctuary houses a few fortunes, including a Yakushi Nyorai mending Buddha from the Asuka period and parchments, canvases and statues from the Kamakura period. The best time to visit is harvest time, with clear foliage, dried persimmon desserts, purpose tastings and veggie lover sanctuary dinners.
