About Arisugawa-no-miya Memorial Park

What is by and by Arisugawa-no-Miya Memorial Park was the site of an urban domain that was used by Minonokami NambuIn in the Edo Period 1603-1868, a medieval ruler from the Morioka space that at that point secured parts of cutting-edge Iwate and Aomori prefectures.

In1896, the site was produced as another living arrangement for Prince Tanehito 1887-1908, child of Imperial Prince Arisugawa-no-Miya Takehito 1862-1913, whose passing denoted the downfall of the Arisugawa-no-Miya branch of the Imperial Household.

Emperor Taisho1879-1926 gave Arisugawa-no-Miya Takehito's previous title, Takamatsu-no-Miya, on his third child, Imperial Prince Terunomiya Nobuhito1905-1987. Profoundly keen on recreational territory proposed for youngsters' well-being and instruction.

His Highness Takamatsu-no-Miya in this way gave the site to the Tokyo metropolitan specialists for it to be opened as an open stop in 1934. Extended to incorporate the Azabu Baseball Field and tennis courts, the recreation center was given over to the control of the city's Minato Ward city experts in 1975.
