About Nahal Gerar

Nachal Gerar, also Nachal Grar is a wadi in Israel, within the Negev barren region. The Arabic name of the wadi is Wadi esh-Sheri'a. Along this wadi, there are several crucial historic Bronze Age archaeological sites. During the Early Iron Age this turned into an area of Philistine agreement. Nachal Gerar starts on the border between the northern Negev and the southwest foothills of Judaean Mountains, near the village of Lahav.
