About Ma'alot-Tarshiha
Ma'alot-Tarshiha is a city within the North District in Israel, some 20 kilometres east of Nahariya, about 600 metres above sea stage. The city was established in 1963 thru a municipal merger of the Arab town of Tarshiha and the Jewish metropolis of Ma'alot. In 2017 the metropolis has a population of 21,267. Excavations of a 4th-century burial cave within the village unearthed a move and a bit of glass engraved with a menorah. Crusader assets from the 12th and thirteenth century consult with Tarshiha as Terschia, Torsia and Tersigha. The King had initiated the settlement of Crusader humans in nearby Mi'ilya, and from there agreement spread out to Tarshiha.
In 1160, Torsia and numerous surrounding villages have been transferred to a Crusader named Iohanni de Caypha. By 1217, the village was possibly inhabited via Crusader human beings. In 1220 Joscelin III´s daughter Beatrix de Courtenay and her husband Otto von Botenlauben, Count of Henneberg, bought their land, along with Tersyha, to the Teutonic Knights. In 1266, Tarshiha became raided by way of Crusader troops.
