About Haifa Zoo
Pinchas Cohen 1886-1956, an agronomist and an Israeli teacher, set up a couple of basic informative and social associations in Haifa.
Cohen was imagined in Zichron Yaakov and experienced youth in Metula. Proceeded onward from the cultivating school in Mikve Israel. agronomist.
Inspected in Berlin. In 1908 he set up the Avtalia School, the essential Hebrew school in Haifa,
from which the Reali School was built up in 1913.
Dr. Biram, the creator of Reali, asked for that Pinchas Cohen demonstrate nature at the new school, and Pinchas responded anxiously, and
he taught for 35 more years until his retirement in 1948. He was a
setting up individual from the "Bat Galim" The Wanderers, "whose people were the Reali understudies,
in addition, starting there the Society for the Protection of Nature, the creator of the Scouts' Scout family , grew later.
While demonstrating nature at the Reali School, he had a fantasy to develop a natural association and a zoological nursery on Mount Carmel.
In April 1937 he stayed in contact with the Land Development Company and asked for to get 200 dunams in the western Carmel.
In 1939 World War II broke out, the game plan was racked and Cohen returned to it only ten years afterward after the completion of the war and after the establishment of the State of Israel
