About Lemforde
Lemforde is a patch inside the Samtgemeinde Altes Amt Lemforde within the district Diepholz in Lower Saxony. For the primary time the network changed into noted in 1248 in a report. The first agreement possibly belonged to the Minden Osnabruck Castle Sturenberg, that's said to have been located south of modern day Lemforder Amtshof. In the route of extending their rule to the south, the counts of Diepholz built right here in 1316 against the new diocese Minden directed new fort, with which they might manage the access to the rule of thumb Diepholz from Osnabruck.
In 2016, a predecessor building of the castle becomes archaeologically verified. This became extended at the start of the 14th century to the south, to which they filled the ditch and raised up to 1.8 m of clay; the fortress was blanketed via a wall about 1.5 m thick, which towered 2 m, which reputedly sufficed inside the level terrain. 22 larger o.k. Posts probable carried a larger building. Perhaps this fort is the 1248 only as Stuerg incomplete surviving fortress.
