Kaltenkirchen

Kaltenkirchen is a metropolis placed 35 km north of Hamburg in Germany. It is a part of the Segeberg district, in Schleswig-Holstein. It has about 20,000 inhabitants. First noted in the 14th century, it flourished in the course of the Industrial revolution to house the huge number of people in Hamburg. During World War II, a transient airfield blanketed the northern towns from bombing raids, but at some point of the raids on Hamburg the airfield changed into destroyed and by no means rebuilt. Only open fields now stay wherein it was. A concentration camp changed into installed right here from August 1944 to April 1945 as a subcamp to the Neuengamme concentration camp.
