Bad Segeberg
About Bad Segeberg
Bad Segeberg is a German town of 16,000 inhabitants, situated in the province of Schleswig-Holstein, capital of the district Kreis Segeberg. It is arranged roughly 50 kilometers upper east of Hamburg, and 25 kilometers west of Lubeck. It is well known for its yearly Karl May Festival, which happens in the city's Kalkberg Stadium, an enormous amphitheater initially worked by the Reich Labor Service into an abused quarry at the Segeberger Kalkberg. There is a huge TV tower amidst the city.
Bad Segeberg isn't a long way from the eastern edge of the slopes of Ostholstein. The western piece of the city is circumscribed by the Trave, the northern part by the Ihlsee and timberlands, the upper east is flanked by the Grober Segeberger See, and the west is additionally flanked by backwoods. In the south, Bad Segeberg is circumscribed by the towns of Hogersdorf and Klein Gladebrugge.
Geographically, the territory around Bad Segeberg is interesting in light of the fact that it is the main region with Karst geography in Schleswig-Holstein, which is shown by the nearness of sinkholes in the region. There were even sinkholes in the city itself, in spite of the fact that these have all been filled in and are never again obvious. The main special case is the Kleiner Segeberger See, which is a sinkhole that is loaded up with water at the foot of the Segeberger Kalkberg.
