About Nisei Week

Nisei Week is a yearly celebration observing Japanese American culture and history in Little Tokyo, Los Angeles. Nisei implies second era in Japanese, depicting the primary American conceived Japanese, a gathering which the seven-day celebration was initially intended to pull in. In spite of the fact that named for the Nisei age, Nisei Week is never again focused at Niseis, nor is the celebration still contained inside seven days. Nisei Week Foundation president for 2006, Michelle Suzuki, portrayed the celebration as "the open door for individuals of all foundations to observe Japanese legacy and culture".
