About Co Loa Citadel Festival
Co Loa Citadel Festival is held from sixth to sixteenth day of the main lunar month in the year, soon after Lunar New Year Festival. The celebration happens at Upper Temple "Den Thuong", Dong Anh District, Hanoi, which is place to revere King A Duong Vuong - the King of Au Lac the previous name of Vietnam in first century BC. The principle celebration day is the sixth day and starts with a serious parade of 12 towns in the zone.
When that parade achieved Upper Temple, the elderly practice an incense-offering ritual on the yard directly before the sanctuary. It's a great opportunity to respect commitment of King A Duong Vuong to the reason for national development and resistance.
