There’s something about bluegrass song. The twang of the banjo, the rip pin, fiddle solos, it all just sounds higher outside. And what’s better than seeing one bluegrass band tear it up on level but catching a whole bunch of top-notch organizations in a single live performance. Luckily, don’t have to fly out to Telluride or up to Grey Fox to enjoy a best bluegrass competition, because the IBMA award-prevailing Charm City Bluegrass Festival is returning to Baltimore!
Leading the incredible lineup of performers is a group of younger artists which can be paying tribute to subculture whilst transferring bluegrass in thrilling new instructions. Topping the bill are Jeff Austin Band playing modern bluegrass, loved Baltimore jam band The Bridge, blues inflected opportunity rockers Deer Tick, newgrass veterans.
The Seldom Scene, and Steep Canyon Rangers, famend for their frequent collaborations with actor banjo player Steve Martin. Don’t omit them and a ton of different extremely good artists, plus food and craft vendors, and the inevitable jam sessions at Druid Hill Park.
