About Amhara
Amhara Region is one of the 9 ethnic divisions of Ethiopia, containing the homeland of the Amhara human beings. Previously called Region 3, its capital is Bahir Dar. Ethiopia's biggest inland body of water, Lake Tana, that's the supply of the Blue Nile river, is located within Amhara.
