Gundsomagle

Gundsomagle is a town placed kilometres east of Jyllinge and Roskilde Fjord within the northern part of Roskilde Municipality, approximately forty kilometres west of Copenhagen, Denmark. Gundsomagle is mentioned in a letter from Bishop Absalon wherein he offers the village to Ebeaeholt Abbey which became founded on the small island of Eskilso in Roskilde Fjord. A this point it consisted of 4 farms. When the monastery moved to its new domestic in North Zealand, it stored some of its vintage holdings.

The biggest farm inside the village, Gundsogard, came beneath Bidstrup in 1300. It become confiscated by means of the Crown in reference to the Reformation and the land become bought off in lots to non-public customers in 1670. In 1792, Gundsomagle consisted of 34 farms. The village began to develop in the 1960s and was selected as seat of the brand new Gundso Municipality which was created in 1970 from a portion of Somme herred.
