Welcome to Guwahati. Pick up from the airport railway station. After refreshment, a visit to Umananda (Shiva) temple which is an island in the river Brahmaputra. Post this visit Balaji temple and Basistha Muni ashram which is popular as it is believed that Vasisth muni meditated here for many years. In the evening you can go for Brahmaputra river cruise and enjoy the beauty of the mighty river and the views of the city lights. Overnight stay at Guwahati.
Day 2 : Shillong
Early morning visit Maa Kamakhya Mandir. After the darshan, head towards Shillong. Halt at Borapani Umiam lake, a tranquil lake surrounded by sylvan hills. Check-in at the hotel. Overnight stay at Shillong.
Day 3 :
Post breakfast proceed for a full day sight seeing in Cherrapunji, one of the heaviest rainfall destinations in the world. Cherrapunji possesses some exotic waterfalls and impressive caves. At Cherrapunji, we visit Nohkalikai falls, being the world/’s fourth tallest waterfall. Visit Eco park, Kynrem falls, Seven Sisters Falls and Mawsmai cave, Mawmluh and Arwah. Back to hotel. Overnight stay at Shillong.
Day 4 :
After Breakfast head to Mawlynnong. Visit the Living Root bridge & Mawlynnong Village- Asia/’s cleanest village. Later drive to Dawki. You can experience boating on Umngot river, a crystal clear waterway that gives an inclination that the vehicle is flying. Then local site seeing at Dawki. Also, visit Bangladesh border. Later back to hotel in Shillong for overnight stay.
Day 5 : Guwahati
Post breakfast, check-out from the hotel . Head to Laitlum Grand Canyon. This is one such spot from where the fascinating panorama of Meghalaya could be viewed. The scenic hill slopes are often called the amphitheatre of Meghalaya. Then visit Elephant falls and Shillong peak. Return to Guwahati and drop at the airportrailway station as per the schedule.
