Rio Verde

Rio Verde is a municipality within the Brazilian country of Goias. It is a fast-developing middle and is the largest manufacturer of grains in the state. It is the middle of the Sudoeste de Goias Microregion, situated at a distance of 229 km from Goiania, the capital of the country and 420 km from Brasilia, the capital of Brazil. The development of Rio Verde commenced in 1838 while the government offered a tax exemption for ten years to each person who might settle within the vicinity. In 1846 lands were donated for the building of the first chapel, Nossa Senora das Dores.

In 1848 it turned into made a freguesia with the name Dores de Rio Verde. In 1882 it changed into extended to a metropolis. It is the middle of the Sudoeste de Goias Microregion, located at a distance of 229 km from Goiania, the capital of the country and 420 km from Brasilia, the capital of Brazil. Highway connections from Goiania and those following other cities; Abadia de Goias, Guapo, Indiara, Acreuna, and Santo Antonio da Barra are made by way of BR-060.
