About Pirineus State Park

The Pirineus State Park is a country park inside the country of Goias, Brazil. It protects an area of cerrado that consists of the best height within the location, the 1,385 metres Pico dos Pireneus, on the watershed among the Plata and Tocantins river basins. A group of scientists who have been demarcating the quadrilateral of the federal district of Brasília measured the altitude and coordinates of the Pico dos Pireneus on 8 August 1892.

A small timber chapel become erected on the height in 1927, and the first mass turned into hung on 18 June 1927 attended by using 35 human beings.
