Municipal Zoological Park Quinzinho de Barros

The Municipal Zoological Park "Quinzinho de Barros" is a 15-hectare zoo situated in the region of Sorocaba, province of Sao Paulo, Brazil. It is an individual from the Society of Brazilian Zoos, and is viewed as Brazil's second zoo as far as species. The zoo lies in the Vila Hortencia locale, in the eastern region of the town of Sorocaba and spreads a region of around 15 ha . It incorporates a portion of transitional Atlantic Forest in its auxiliary stage, a lake, and also the Historical Museum of Sorocaba.

As indicated by a review completed in 1992 by the Society of Brazilian Zoos, it protected 1,487 examples of 353 unique types of well evolved creatures, winged creatures and reptiles around then. 70% had a place with the Brazilian fauna; among these, 36 species were undermined by annihilation. The Largo do Jardim was introduced on 1 January 1899; its name was later changed to Praca Frei Barauna. That is the place the Jardim dos Bichos was introduced on 15 January 1916; it stayed there until 1930 and included types of the Brazilian fauna, similar to jaguars, monkeys, deers, sloths, little crocodiles, snakes, and feathered creatures, particularly macaws.

Around 1965, the City Hall of Sorocaba chose to build up a huge territory along the banks of the Sorocaba River and manufactured a recreation center for the nearby open. A few neighbors proposed including a few creatures to make it more appealing. Subsequently, a few sorts of feathered creatures were at first introduced; different assortments of winged creatures took after, and also two tufted capuchins and an aquarium, which brought forth the second Jardim dos Bichos; it was authoritatively initiated in 1966 and called Jardim da Margem.
