About Castanhal
Castanhal is a city close to the jap edge of the kingdom of Para northern Brazil. It is placed some 65 km east of the state’s capital Belam and 50 km inland SE of the Bay of Marajo. It is accessed via vehicle or bus thru federal dual carriageway BR-316. The climate is tropical rainforest. With a population around 185,000, it's miles the fifth biggest city within the nation. Castanhal become officially based on January, 28th of 1932 date of certification and received its call because of the commonplace nut trees across the teach station of the Braganca - Belem railway.
Workers from the Brazilian Northeast started out settling around the station. Local farmers started promoting their merchandise at the new marketplace. Though, the brand new market Castanhal was founded. The Bragança railway become close down in 1964 and the rails have been removed. The government of the nation of Para gave Castanhal the nickname "cidade modelo". In 2004, Pope John Paul II erected the diocese of Castanhal, that's subordinated as a suffragan diocese to the archdiocese of Belem, Para.
