About Atomium

The Atomium is a landmark building in Brussels, firstly constructed for the 1958 Brussels World Expo. It is positioned on the Heysel Plateau, wherein the exhibition came about. It is now a museum. Designed via the engineer André Waterkeyn and architects André and Jean Polak, it stands 102 m tall. Its nine 18 m diameter stainless-steel clad spheres are linked, in order that the complete bureaucracy the form of a unit cellular of an iron crystal magnified 165 billion instances.
