1. TAAI And Rwanda Signed Agreement to Increase Bilateral Tourism
A bilateral tourism agreement was signed with Rwanda’s New Dawn Associates by TAAI in order to promote this destination amongst the Indian tourists. This was done on the first day of OTM Mumbai. The Treasurer and Tourism Council Chairman, TAAI, Jay Bhatia and Anny Batamuriza, the Director General of New Dawn Associates signed thus bilateral agreement in the presence of High Commissioner of Rwanda, New Delhi- Ernest Rwamucyo. Clarence Fernandes, the Representative of Rwanda Development Board was also present on this occasion.
As per Mr. Bhatia, it was announced that they will plan workshops for the TAAI members over the coming two to three months that will help to enhance their knowledge of the place and its offerings.
Batamuriza added that Rwanda is one of the safest countries in Africa and they can incorporate safaris with the natural landscapes. The available amenities along with the other offerings make I an apt location for film-making.
The visa processing for Rwanda does not take more than twenty four hours. One can avail the East African tourism visa which is a multiple entry visa that is valid for a period of three months. The other countries that can be explored along with Rwanda include Uganda and Kenya.
In order to facilitate easy reach, the Rwanda’s national carrier is expected to commence direct flights from Mumbai to Kigali in September this year.
