1. AERA Has Exempted the Landing Charges for Small Aircrafts
The Airports Economic Regulatory Authority (AERA) has exempted the landing charges for small aircrafts (Less than 80 passenger seats). AERA has reintroduced its earlier tariff orders with some unique changes for private air operators to boost its regional connectivity to a superior level. As per the previous tariff orders, the Airports Economic Regulatory Authority, India has permitted country’s major airport operators Mumbai and Delhi to charge landing fees to small aircrafts.
The newly introduced revised tariff orders excluded all small aircrafts from landing charges at countrywide airports. By issuing such tariff orders, AERA is surely going to lose a good amount of earning, where as it will boost the regional connectivity plan of government to a certain high level. Previously, several air travel operators including SpiceJet, Jet Airways and Air India had reported issues near AERA regarding this. And now when the AERA officials addressed the issues, it is going to be a big relief for all air travel operators.
