Sea Flavors at Ali Barbour's Cave Restaurant

Ali Barbour’s Cave Restaurant is an atmospheric restaurant situated at the Kenyan coast, at the distance of 30km on the south of Mombasa city, and is just 200m from the shore front. It is about 120,000 and 180,000 years old, prepared of natural coral luring your attention towards its interlinked dining rooms with the depth up to 10m below sea level. This world-renowned cafe is run by the owners of the Forty Thieves beach bar and restaurant next door, famed for their live music and other entertaining performances. By walking down stone steps, extracted from the rock, you may see the main dining area housed in the inner chambers, and is partially exposed to the stars. However, the romantic backdrop, flickering lamps, lights and speakers, etc. prepare you for a memorable dining gusto.

The cave’s restaurant opens at 7pm serving you Crab Salad, the smoked sail fish, or marinated with lemon and chillies as appetizers. Further, the food here is just out of this world, particularly, if you are offered International delicacies, and French cuisines are dished out with assorted seafood like fish pate, crispy prawns, whole lobster and lobster bisque. Surrender yourself to starry night lit with shimmering candlelight, covered red sofas highlighting the bar-level lounge with extensive wine, and stalactites peer from above. However, do not miss out on the most happening dessert of the place that helps to propose your better half with a stunning engagement ring, the banana pie, and fills every vacuum to make each moment a memorable one.
