Petra

This is undoubtedly the most visited attraction of Jordan, and in all probability, of entire Middle East. Included in New Seven Wonders of the World, it was designated World Heritage site by UNESCO in the year 1985. Petra is actually a rock cut monument on the slopes of Mount Hor. Petra was discovered only in the year 1812 by a swiss explorer Johann Ludwig Burckhardt. The main attraction of Petra are The Treasury, The Theatre, and El Deir, The Monastery. It has been described by many as the greatest cultural endowment for Human Race.
