Hiroshima Peace Memorial

Japan has stood witness to the worst disaster brought upon humans, by the humans, the nuclear bomb explosion. Hiroshima Peace Memorial, famously referred to as Atomic Bomb Dome is the only building which bore the brunt of the atomic bomb and is still standing. The building is a part of Hiroshima Peace Memorial Park which was declared a world heritage site in 1996. The bomb named ‘Little Boy’ exploded exactly above the building on August 6th 1945. This memorial is visited by thousands of tourists and locales throughout the year to pay their homage to the lives lost on that fateful day.
