Most famous place of Bhutan -Located amidst the dense forest of Blue Pines and Rhododendrons, Tiger Nest Monastery is set on a mountain cliff. To reach this amazing place one has to climb 900 meters up to the hill. You can take a Pony if you desire though it might only take you till the cafeteria of the monastery. Here onwards you need to walk a steep stairway to reach the main Snow Lion Cave. This monastery holds great importance as from here only Guru Rinpoche incepted Buddhism in Bhutan. The view of the Paro valley from here is awe-inspiring.
Also known as Pungthang Dewachen Phodrang (The Palace f Happiness) it is the most splendid dzong of the country. Placed strategically between two rivers Pho Chu and Mo Chu the dzong is a 3 hours drive from the national capital Thimpu. You can experience a moderate climate in this place and experience the winds of the lilac colored Jacaranda trees.
