About Catherine Palace

The Catherine Palace is a Rococo royal residence situated in the town of Tsarskoye Selo Pushkin, 30 km south of St. Petersburg, Russia. It was the mid year living arrangement of the Russian tsars. In spite of the fact that Stasov's and Cameron's Neoclassical insides are great signs recently 18th century and mid 19th century taste, the royal residence is best known for Rastrelli's fantastic suit of formal rooms known as the Golden Enfilade. It begins at the extensive vaporous dance floor, the "Excellent Hall" or the "Lobby of Lights", with a fantastic painted roof, and contains various unmistakably brightened littler rooms, including the duplicated Amber Room.

Past the Great Hall is the lounge area for the squires in participation. The room was planned by Rastrelli in the mid-18th century. The little room is lit by four windows which watch out into the formal patio. The draftsman put false windows with mirrors and reflected glass on the contrary divider, making the corridor more extensive and splendid. Designed in the run of the mill rococo inside style, the corridor is loaded up with overlaid divider carvings, complex plated pieces on the entryways, and decorative examples of adapted blooms. It was in this manner reestablished under Stasov's heading.
