Bunschoten

Bunschoten is a municipality and a town in the Netherlands, within the province of Utrecht. It lies approximately 7 km north of Amersfoort. Its territory contains the unique municipality of Bunschoten and the previous municipality of Duyst, De Haar and Zevenhuizen, which changed into part of Hoogland from 1854 until 1971. In 1383, the bishop of Utrecht gave Bunschoten city rights, which allowed the residents to build an earthen wall around the metropolis.
