Yatomi

Yatomi is a metropolis placed in Aichi Prefecture, Japan. As of 2012, the town has an estimated population of 43,355 and a population density of 886 people in keeping with km². The general location is 48.92 km². The area call of Yatomi appears in Kamakura duration files, as part of historical Owari Province. During the Edo length, the place become referred to for raising ornamental goldfish. During the Meiji duration, the vicinity become organized into villages below Kasai District, Aichi Prefecture, which later became Ama District, Aichi. Yatomi become proclaimed a town on August 26, 1903.

The Isewan Typhoon of September 26, 1959 created tremendous harm to the vicinity. Efforts to merge Yatomi with the neighboring city of Kanie failed in 2004 over a dispute at the naming of the new entity. The present day town of Yatomi became founded on April 1, 2006, from the merger between the previous city of Yatomi, absorbing the village of Jushiyama both from Ama District. Yatomi is located inside the coastal flatlands of some distance western Aichi Prefecture, bordering Mie Prefecture on the west.
