About Mamshit National Park

Mamshit National Park includes the remains of a Nabatean metropolis from Roman and Byzantine times and offers Nabatean architecture in all its glory, against the desolate tract backdrop of the northern Negev hills. It is a testament to the past prosperity of the area. Thousands of years ago, remarkable camel caravans could wind their manner from the splendid city of Petra in present-day Jordan to the Mediterranean Sea bringing with them spices, incense, herbs, gem stones and medicines.

Along what have become called the Incense Route, smaller cities regarded which catered to the tourists. Visit Mamshit to revel in the smallest, but exceptional-preserved of Israel’s Incense Route towns. Mamshit is open day by day, with shorter beginning hours on Fridays and at some stage in the iciness months. There is a fee to enter the park and concessions are to be had. Allow at the least 2 hours to get around all of the attractions. For every other adventure, comply with the strolling trails which start and give up at Mamshit. Combine to go to right here with journeys to the other 3 UNESCO World Heritage Site Nabatean cities in Israel.
