About Stadtlohn
Stadtlohn is a town in the north-west of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, some portion of the area Borken. The Berkel waterway courses through it on its way to the Netherlands. The town was established as Lohn by Liudger, the primary Bishop of Munster about the year 800. Around 985 Gescher was part from Lohn, which thus 1231 split into Sudlohn actually "South-Lohn" and Nordlohn truly "North-Lohn". The name Stadtlohn actually "Town-Lohn" is first referenced in 1389 after the community Nordlohn was verified by a canal, a cautious divider and entryways and picked up the town rights.
Around 1406 Stadtlohn was torched by Count Heinrich I of Solms-Ottenstein in light of the fact that he quarreled with the cleric of Munster.
