About Ahlen
Ahlen is a town in North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, 30 km southeast of Munster. Ahlen is a piece of the District of Warendorf and is monetarily the most significant town in that district. Ahlen is a piece of the bigger Munster district, and of the noteworthy Munsterland zone. The close-by towns of Dolberg, Vorhelm and Tonnishauschen are a piece of Ahlen, too. The biggest neighboring town is the city of Hamm toward the southwest.
The main recorded notice of Ahlen is in the Vita Liudgeri, dating to about the year 850. The explanation behind the name, which signifies "eels", are obscure. An eel festooned with a crown and plumes is on the town's escutcheon. The beginning of settlement was likely due to there being a traverse the stream Werse, which was additionally the intersection of two key streets and the start of a third street. In its initial centuries, the juvenile settlement was worked around an episcopal court. Inside the place of refuge of this congregation stronghold, the main pilgrims were experts and vendors who exchanged with the nearby ranchers and laborers of the court.
