The 32nd edition of the Durban International Film Festival is all set to celebrate film making and the individuals associated with it. This annual fiesta of the best of South African and African cinema is the deemed to be a major boost for the qualitative development of the international cinema as a whole. Apart from the 300 screenings of the works that has been done in diverse verticals, the Durban International Film Festival sees industry seminars, discussion forums and workshops for the cinema enthusiasts.
The 2013 version of this gala event will kick start with the premiere of South African film State Of Violence, directed by the award winning Khalo Matabane. Speaking on this, Peter Rorvik, Director of the Durban International Film Festival, observes, The festival is committed to the promotion of South African cinema, and we are proud to open their 32nd edition with State Of Violence , a powerful, brave and thrilling film by a very talented director. Organized by the Centre For Creative Arts University Of KwaZulu-Natal, Durban International Film Festival thrives on the extensive support of the National Film and Video Foundation, KwaZulu-Natal Department of Economic Development and Tourism, Goethe Institute, Industrial Development Corporation, Commonwealth Foundation and so on. This festival is an ideal stage for the cine lovers to relish the otherwise not much talked about African cinema.
