About Dhanteras

 

Dhanteras or Dhana Trayodashi is the first day of the five-day Diwali Festival mainly celebrated in Northern and the Western part of India. It is celebrated on the 13th day of the Krishna paksha of the Hindu calendar. On Dhanteras, Goddess Lakshmi is worshiped to provide prosperity and well being to all. The business community purchases precious metals on this day and worships Kubera the God of assets and wealth.
