The Balanghai Festival is a festival in Butuan, Agusan del Norte to remember the happening to the early transients that settled Butuan territory on board the Balangay boats. This movement has been gone back to before 500 b.c. building up Butuan as the most established settlement in the Philippine islands, the celebration observes "Before there was the Philippines, there was Butuan, The Kingdom of Butuan".
