Trsat Castle

Trsat Castle is a castle in Rijeka, Croatia. It is felt that the chateau lies at the correct spot of an old Illyrian and Roman stronghold. The Croatian respectable Vuk Krsto Frankopan is covered in one of the places of worship. The Trsat stronghold was totally reproduced and redesigned in the nineteenth century when the sepulcher of the military officer Laval Nugent was worked in its inside. The patio of the palace has now been transformed into an eatery and many tourists visit the place during the summer months.

The thirteenth century Trsat chateau, whose site has been used from Roman days for being a simple place from which to control access to the ocean along the Rjecina River, is arranged on the precarious slope disregarding the Rjecina pig out to its left side bank, simply over the town of Rijeka. It might be that an Iapodian slope fortress, Darsata, used to be there, after which the Roman stronghold Tarsatica was named.

This Roman post was of indispensable significance on a street that associated Aquileia to Pannonia and Senia. The catch of the Castle of Trsat constrained the Ban of Croatia, Andrew Bot of Bajna, to intercede in the Austro-Venetian war, and in June 1509 he initially recovered Trsat with his Croatian armed force and after that entered Rijeka in the wake of removing the Venetians.
