Goa Experienced Low Visitors By Charter Flights This Year

As per report, visitor who travel on charter flights and visit Goa remained flat this year. Tourist experts say that reason is decreasing demand of the charter flights from Russian travelers. As per the figures, Goa received only 783 international flights between October 2015 to April 2016, which is considered the lowest in last five years. Even the number of chartered travelers dropped by 38.75 percent, with only 98,796 foreign tourists, as against 1.61 lakh passengers, ferried by the same in the previous year. Therefore, there is no noticeable increase in charter flight passengers to Goa. Due to this, the Goa tour operators have received severe setback. However, there is something to cheer for them, as increase in domestic visitor is noticed during this period.

The major reason for this downfall is the low interest of Russian and Britain travelers to Goa. Experts say that the steep decline is due to the closure of two major tour operators Labirint and Neva in Goa. Other major reason is the depreciation of rouble. Thus, the weakening of Russian economy has directly reduced the visitors to Goa.
