India to Mexico Visa application process

For visiting Mexico a tourist visa is required. The Visa is valid for six months and a single entry can be availed against it. For taking multiple entries, as per certain circumstances, Visa can be extended on prior consulting The Mexico Consulate.

1. Basic criteria to get Mexico Tourist Visa

A valid passport is required to obtain the Visa. The validity of the passport should be three more months than the duration of the Visa.
A copy of the complete application form should be saved for further reference.
A proof of your financial statement showing the affordability of the whole trip till the time you are back to your own country. A minimum of 50 USD per day should be there.
A copy of the ticket that is arrival and return should be there.
Previous six-month financial statements are also required.
The proof of your permanent residence of your country should be attached along. It is important as it serves as a proof that you will return back.
Travel Insurance is required. It is also a necessary part of the documents

2. The procedure for Mexican tourist Visa

Download the visa application form online and fill the details in it. Write non-applicable in the section where you do not require filling the details.
All the documents which are mentioned in the list should be gathered for the submission process.
Two passport size photographs should also be submitted along. The photograph should be a recent one. The photo should be such that minimum of eighty percent space is covered by your face.
Submission of Visa application form along with the Visa fee is to be submitted in person at the Mexico Consulate. The Visa fee is 22 USD.
When the visa is issued you can collect it on the prior date issued by the embassy.
During your stay in Mexico if you require an extension of Visa then 30 days prior the date of expiry application needs to be submitted. You are even requested to show the sufficient funds for your extended stay.

3. Things to be kept in mind while applying for Visa

Apply for the tourist Visa at least a month before the planned trip. This much time is enough for the processing of your file. Applying a week or two weeks before can be a problem as sometimes processing takes a little more time.
The application form should be filled very carefully and mention all the accurate details. A cross check of information can take place.
It is mandatory to bring original documents along with the photocopy when submitting the visa application to Mexico Consulate.
False or misleading information should not be mentioned as it can be a hindrance for your visa.
The documents which are attached should be original ones. If fake documents are caught then Visa could be rejected.
The tourist Visa must be used within the 90 days of issue.
