India to UK Visa Application Process

For visiting the United Kingdom, Indians need to have a visa for it. Getting Visa to the United Kingdom is not an easy process but following a set pattern which is used by the government can help you to go through it.

1. Know your Visa

The type of Visa you require should be clear. Visit the site of the Embassy and clearly know the Visa which is required for the purpose of your visit

2. Apply for the Visa-

Online form for the Visa is to be filled and you should take an appointment for it. On the day of your appointment, you need to be present fifteen minutes before. You need to get the appointment letter, the application filled, documents, passport and other details which will be required. After submitting the documents an acknowledgment slip will be given. Keep this slip safe as you will require later to collect your documents. After this, you won’t be able to make any changes or submit any more documents so check everything before submission.

Three months before the date of travel you can apply for the visa. Flight bookings and accommodation should be on hold until you are not granted with the Visa. This appointment with the Embassy should be done prior the time as processing of file can take some time. You even need to choose the way you want to collect your documents. You can collect them by post or by hand

3. Submitting the documents

All the documents which are submitted should be a photocopy and should be on an A4 size paper.

Any document which is larger or small than A4 size should be copied on A4 sheet only.
No staples or pins should be there in the documents.
Documents should not be toned, creased or crumpled. This is important as documents which are not in proper condition will not be scanned.
Laminated documents are not allowed.
All the documents which are mentioned should be present in the file.
Documents such as financial record should include IT returns and bank statement.
Employment letter that is a leave application from the organization you are working should also be attached.
All education proofs should be attached.
Sponsorship letter is required if the sponsor is there. Details about the person who is a sponsor should be mentioned clearly.
Accommodation letter that is the booking of hotel or residence address where you will stay should be mentioned. Even the flight details are required along
