About St Michael Chapel

The Saint Michael Chapel is a Gothic style house of chapel in Kosice, Slovakia. It was most likely raised in the main portion of the fourteenth century. It was worked as a burial ground house of prayer inside the town dividers in the place of the present-day stop at Hlavna ulica English: Main Street. The lower some portion of the sanctuary was at first an ossarium, the upper one served for workplaces for the expired. The house of prayer filled in as a Slovak church though the Cathedral of Saint Elisabeth was a German and Hungarian church.
Amid the reconstructing in the years 1902– 1904, they pulled down the northern path and bricked 17 old headstones into the outside dividers of the house of prayer to spare them from decimation. Terrible state of the building was the reason of the intricate reproduction in the years 1998– 2006. The remade sanctuary was blessed on 22 January 2006 by Kosice's ecclesiastical overseer, Alojz Tkac. The lead celestial hosts Raphael and Gabriel are on his sides. In the inside, there is a decent stone sanctuary, the fancy model Ecce Homo and rests of divider works of art from the Middle Ages. The primary city crest in Europe dated back to 1369 is arranged over the entryway prompting the vestry.
