Rwanda is known as Le Pays des Mille Collines among locals and visitor, on account of the unlimited mountains in this beautifully dazzling little nation. No place are the mountains greater than the Virunga volcanoes in the northwest, and covered up among the bamboo timberlands are a portion of the world's final mountain gorillas. For a difference in scene, the shores of Lake Kivu cover a portion of the best inland shorelines on the mainland, while Nyungwe Forest National Park secures broad tracts of montane rainforest, and is home to numerous primates. Of course, Rwanda's name may bring out recollections of the terrible genocide that brutalized this nation in 1994, yet it's all finished and the nation has grasped a promising and dynamic future.
