Bandipur, a National reserve is located in the state of Karnataka. It was established in 1931 and from then it has been used for conserving ious wildlife animals and birds. This National park is famous for the initiatives which were taken by the state government to preserve the endangered species of Indian tigers which are on verge of extinction. This national park started The Tiger Project under Indian govt. and started conserving national animals.
This national park also has an animal care center which looks over the population and growth of the animals and treats injured animals too. Bandipur National park is located at the foothills of Nilgiris and has Kabini, Nugu and Moyar rivers flowing through the reserve providing the animals with natural source of water. Bandipur national park is now amongst the Biosphere reserves of India as it contains many ieties of wild animals in it. A few kilometres away from capital city, Bangalore, this reserve is one of the popular tourist places visited as a weekend getaway. The place is surrounded by unruffled atmosphere and is eco friendly. Surrounded by foliage and lush greenery. Bandipur is a popular destination for those who are into wildlife tourism.
