The Notting Hill Carnival happens to be Europe's biggest street festival with Caribbean theme. It is a one huge lively party where you can be sure to meet culturally diverse crowd dancing madly to the fantastic live music including pan bands, and a series of alfresco movements like salsa, steel bands, uplifting beats, soca floats and reggae.
The carnival is also hot-favorite amongst the children where they get mesmerised to see a vibrant celebration of music, dance and upteen food stalls offering fried plantain & jerk chicken. For more entertainment which is otherwise a must watch is the gala parade on Monday. It is well known as Bank Holiday winding a path from Great Western Road, next to Westbourne Grove and Chepstow Road to Ladbroke Grove.
