Nava-ratri stands for nine nights and during this time people pray to Godess Durga who is the destroyer of all evil. These auspicious nine days are celebrated all over the India, when nine forms of goddess Durga, are worshipped each day. In north India, people celebrate Naatri by worshipping the idols of deity Durga. In Bengal, decorative Pandals are made, where devotees visit for the blessings of the goddess. These nine nights of the festival are celebrated by performing Garba and keeping fast in Gujarat.
