You can choose to call it a Boat Safari. In fact you are always on the Boat Safari in Sundarbans whenever you are in the Forests of Sundarbans. Our Sundarban Tiger Reserve approved guide who awaits your arrival on the Steamer, apprises you and keeps on providing information about this Unique Ecosystem as well as the World's largest Delta as the boat cruises down the rivers Hogol, Gomar, Durgaduni and Gumdi and in about an hour and a half you would reach the Sajnekhali watchtower. Enroute enjoy birding and game cruise and try to sight wildlife from the Sajnekhali watchtower and also visit the Sajnekhali Museum, the River Terrapin Pond and Mangrove Interpretation Centre. The second day of your Sundarban Tour involves a full day cruise through the rivers and narrow creeks of the Sundarbans National Park as well as the World’s Largest Mangrove Forest and a lovely birding experience. Food would be prepared and served on the motor boat. Cross through the numerous creeks and canals of the Sunderban Tiger Reserve, notable among them being the Bonobibi Bharani, the Sundar Khali, Gazikhali, Chora Gazi Khali, Deul Bharani, the Pancha Mukhani 5 River junction, the Netai River and reach the Netidhopani Watchtower. The Netidhopani Watchtower is one of the most important watchtowers situated close to the Core area of the Sundarban Tiger Reserve. Entry to this Watch Tower is highly restricted and controlled by the Sundarban Tiger Reserve authorities as it lies in the Core area of the Sundarban Tiger Reserve and only 13 boats are granted permission to visit Netidhopani watchtower everyday. The Netidhopani watchtower offers a very high probability of sighting wild animals along with the Royal Bengal tiger as lesser number of boats sail on the routes along the Netidhopani Watch Tower. Apart from the Netidhopani watch Tower, the Camp also has the ruins of a 400 year old Shiva Temple. There is also a sweet water pond. This watch tower has a capacity to host 20 persons at a time. It is also believed that there is a road on the extreme right of the forest which was built by King Pratapaditya to guard the coastal area. It is now covered with mud. The silence of the place would charm you. After visiting the Netidhopani watch Tower, we cross the meeting point of the Rivers Matla and Vidya and proceed to visit the Dobanki Watchtower and the Canopy Walk. The canopy walk at Dobanki gives you an opportunity to view wildlife from a netted enclosure. Thereafter, enjoy the thrill of cruising deep in the “Indian Amazon” as India Beacons calls it and also around the islands of the Sundarban Tiger Project Area. Let yourself be guided by our Naturalist and Guide to view the Mangrove forest from close quarters, deep inside the creeks and return in the evening to the resort. The third day of your Sundarban Tour involves cruising through the creeks of Pirkhali and visiting the Sudhanyakhali Watchtower and Jharkhali Optional. Most of the tigers are sighted from the Sudhanyakhali Watchtower. Some other wildlife like axis deers, wild boars and crocodiles may also be seen from this watch tower. This watch tower has a capacity to host 25 persons at a time. There is a sweet water pond where animals come to drink water. Behind the pond are long stretches of observation lines, bereft of any vegetation where one can sight animals from a distance. The Brahmini Kite, Brown Winged Kingfisher, Jungle cat as well as the Monitor lizards are very often sighted from the Sudhanyakhali Watchtower. Proceed for your Onward Journey.
