Places Included-: Chandi Devi : Temple of Chandi Devi a top the Neel Parvat on the other bank of river Ganga was build in 1929 AD by the King of Kashmir – Suchat Singh. The temple is a 3 kilometer trek from Chandi Ghat. Legend has it that Chanda-Munda the army chief of the local demon king, Shumbha-Nishumbha, was killed by Goddess Chandi here after which the place got the name Chandi Devi. It is believed that the main statue was established by the Adi Sankaracharya in 8th Century AD. Chandi Devi Temple is now accessible by a rope-way also, which starts near Gauri Shanker Temple. Bharat Mata Temple : Sited in Sapt Saro near ashram at Haridwar, Bharat Mata Temple is a holy place of its own kind. Bharat Mata Mandir was founded by Swami Satyamitranand Giri. On 15th May 1983, the temple was instated by Late Prime Minister, Smt. Indira Gandhi. The temple is also unique in the sense that it is built in 8 stories, each of which represents a specific theme and is devoted to ious legends and deities of India. The eight-storey temple rises up to a height of 180 ft. Shantikunj : Shantikunj is the headquarters of the spiritual and social organization All World Gayatri Pariwar. Recognized in 1971 at Haridwar, it has emerged over the years as a center of the global movement of Yug Nirman Yojana for moral-spiritual regeneration in the light of hoary Indian heritage. Sited at the bank of holy Ganges and between the Shivalik ranges of the Himalayas, it's also a place of attraction for tourists and seekers of spiritual guidance. Bhimgoda Kund : Haridwar Bhimgoda Kund enlightens the travelers on the rich religious heritage and mythological legacy of the bygone golden time. Legend has it that while the Pandavas were here, Bhim with one blow of his horse's hoof drew water from the rocks at this spot. Doodhadhari Barfani Temple : Doodhadhari Barfani Temple is located in the ashram "Doodhadhari Barfani Baba", This is one of most elegant temples in Haridwar. There are temples of Rama-Sita and Hanuman with white marbles in the complex. Ganga Aarti Haridwar :It is performed at Har Ki Pauri Ghat in Haridwar. Ganga Aarti in Haridwar is one of the most famous in Haridwar. Visit to Haridwar is not complete if you have not seen its Ganga Aarti. Sapt Rishi Ashram and Sapt Saro : This is place where 07 great sages Saptarishis have meditated. The river Ganga divide herself in 07 currents at this place so sages would not be disturbed by the flow. These seven sages are Kashyapa, Vashisht, Atri, Vishwamitra, Jamadagni, Bharadwaja and Gautam. Mansa Devi Temple : Mansa Devi Temple is dedicated to goddess Mansa Devi. Goddess is also known as Maa Mansa Devi. It is believed that Mansa Devi was emerged from the mind of great Sage Kashyapa. Mansa means wish and the goddess fulfills the wishes so the Goddess is known as Mansa Devi. The temple is situated at bilva Parvat Mountain. Rope way Cable car is also available here. The pilgrims can reach the temple by 03 ways. 1. By normal trek 1. 5km one way 2. By steps 480 steps approx 3. By cable car ropeway 5 Minutes ride. After visiting this places we will be driving to our next Destination "Rishikesh". On reaching Rishikesh, Check In to the hotel and have some rest. After having Lunch we will take you for the short tour of Rishikesh. Places Included-: Lakshman Jhula : 2 kilometers from Swarg Ashram, is the well-known Lakshman Jhula a suspension bridge 450 feet long and built in 1939. Named after Lord Ram's younger brother Lakshman, it has temples dotting its either side, including the famed Lakshman Temple at Tapovan. One more noteworthy ashram is the 13 storeyed Kailashananda Ashram, with each storey being dedicated to a different deity. Ram Jhula : Ramjhula is situated 3Km north of Rishikesh. It's a very popular place amongst people coming for religious purposes because it has very known Ashrams. Most known is Geeta Bhavan & Swarg Ashram and these temples are very important in Hindu society and you will see much more commotion here then in Lakshmanjhula. Gita Bhavan : Near the Lakshaman Jhula, is the newly constructed building of Gita Bhavan. It runs a free Ayurvedic dispensary and also has a branch of the Gita Press, Gorakhpur. There are more than a hundred rooms for visitors and this edifice houses ious striking paintings and statues of ancient mythological characters. The stories of the ancient epics- the Ramayana and the Mahabharata are beautifully illustrated on its walls. The place is also popular among the tourists. Triveni Ghat : o be found in the heart of town, is the most famous bathing ghat, where most pilgrims take a holy dip earlier than they visit the ious temples. This is done generally in the early mornings, with the pilgrims offering prayers and milk at the Ghat and feeding the fish in the water. An amazing sight here is the evening arati, a ceremony accompanied by lights, drums and chanting, with the entire ghat lit with lamps glowing from a distance. Bharat Mandir : Near the Ghat, is the temple known as Bharat Mandir said to be the oldest temple here built by the Adi Shankaracharya. This 9th century temple has the deity of Lord Vishnu carved out of a single black stone popular as Saligram, and is placed in the inner chambers of the temple. The original temple was said to have been destroyed in 1398 AD. If you are lucky, catch the spring festival also called Basant Panchami celebrated here. Rishikund : Close to the Triveni Ghat is the very old place of Rishikund where the Saint Kubz is said to have been blessed by the Goddess Yamuna, who filled the pond with her water. The temple of Raghunath dedicated to Lord Rama and his wife Sita is sited here. After visiting this places we will head back to the hotel. Neelkanth Mahadev Temple : To be found at a distance of 12 km from Rishikesh, this temple stands at a height of 926m on top of a hill across the river Ganga. It derives its name from Lord Shiva. According to mythological belief; the cosmic churning of the oceans Sagar Manthan for the potion of immortality amrit by the Gods and the Demons; produced a venomous liquid, which was consumed by Lord Shiva at this place. As a result, his throat became blue in color, which in Hindi literally means 'Neelkanth' blue throat. The place is a favorite among the religious tourists. After coming down from the Neelkanth Mahadev Temple, have Lunch in Chotiwala. After lunch we will be heading back to Delhi bid adieu to your Religious Uttrakhand Tour.
